The workshop for this year will be for all you conductors. Whether you are established or a beginner, and regardless of the standard of the band you conduct, this will be a day to benefit you.
Paul Norley, Director of Music the Band of the Brigade of Gurkhas, will be joining us and giving us instruction on rehearsal technique; how to organise rehearsals and how to improve a band’s performance. Paul is very well known to us at scaba, having adjudicated at many of our contests.
The workshop will be held at The Hawth theatre in Crawley, and we have decided that there will be no charge for people to attend. Yes, you read that right, no charge for people to attend. The workshop will be an all-day event, timings will be finalised nearer the day but it will be approximately 10-00 am until 4-00 pm. We have two bands, Friary Guilford and LGB Brass, helping us during the day, and our grateful thanks to them for their help and support.
Those of you who have been to the Hawth will know that every facility is available, including an excellent restaurant area, where sandwiches and hot meals will be available for purchase.
If you wish to attend, please would you fill in the application form and return it to me so we have a record of who to expect.
If you have any questions please contact me, and I hope to see you all in November.
