MAYFIELD BAND
After 27 years with the Band, Roy Fuller, our Musical Director, and Julie Scrace our Principal Cornet, have now retired from the band at the end of last year. Daughters Katherine and Emma will also be moving on, which leaves a number of vacancies in the band.
The band is a friendly and enthusiastic village band, with a core of highly talented players, and a youth section. We perform in four regular concerts each year, as well as on Eastbourne Bandstand, and the usual round of local fairs. We contest as and when we can, but this has not been possible in the last two years.
So, we are urgently seeking a new Musical Director to carry on Roy’s good work, and build on our past success by bringing on all players, young and old. Also required is a Principal Cornet as a matter of priority, and the following:
Percussionist
Front and back row cornets
E flat and B flat bass
2nd Horn and 2nd Baritone.
