Cranbrook Town – Belgium tour 2013

Fresh from their stunning trophy haul at the SCABA Spring Contest where the band took all five prizes available in their section, Cranbrook Town Band has just completed a Bank Holiday tour to Belgium with two successful concerts in Oostende and Gent.

The band left the UK on Friday evening and arrived in Ghent at around midnight local time. The first concert took place on Saturday afternoon as a part of the ‘At Anchor in Oostende Festival’ and was well received by an audience who had to brave some windy and chilly conditions.

The second concert in the Vrijdagsmarkt, Ghent on Sunday morning was as a part of the Arteveldehogeschool Concerts 2013 series and was once again well received by a decent sized audience. At the end of the concert, the band was delighted to be presented with a plaque on behalf of the Royal Music Association and an invitation to return at any time for further performances.

The band would like to thank David Newsom for all of the hard work that he put into organising the tour and are already looking forward to the next one.
