Best of Brass at Borde Hill

Four bands enjoyed glorious sunshine and some fabulous music making at scaba’s first free non-competitive festival held at the beautiful Borde Hill Garden in Sussex on 14th July.

A new initiative to support youth music and non-contesting bands, the Borde Hill Brass Festival offered local bands an opportunity to showcase their talents and enjoy the best of brass banding – fun, friendship and great music in a lovely relaxed setting. The bands who took part each put on a 45 minute programme to an appreciative audience and made a day of it, supporting each other’s performances and making the most of the chance to hear some different music and meet new banding friends.

Big thanks from scaba and Borde Hill to the members of Copthorne Silver Band, Mid Sussex Brass & Mid Sussex Youth Band, Oxted Band and the Southern Counties Youth Band (#SCYB). We enjoyed the day so much we’re going to do it all again next year, and hope to welcome even more bands next time! Put the date in your diary now for the next #BordeHillBrassFest – 12th July 2020.
