We are holding another conductors’ workshop this autumn, with Paul Norley again coming to offer his advice and expertise. This event will be held on Sunday 15th November at Cranleigh Bandroom, a venue that we have used for numerous events over the years, and LGB and Otterbourne bands will be sharing the playing duties during the day. We are very grateful to these two bands for giving up their valuable time.
Paul has chosen a repertoire of music to be used during the day, so that all aspects of conducting are covered. The pieces, which can be found in most bands’ libraries, are;
Contest March — Punchinello — Rimmer
Test Piece — A Celtic Suite — Philip Sparke
Selection — A Disney Fantasy — Arranged Richards
Overture — Tantalusqualen — Von Suppe, Arranged Rimmer
And our old friend, the Red Hymn Book.
The workshop will cost £10, to include lunch and refreshments.
If you wish to attend the workshop, please download the scaba 2015 Workshop Application Form and return it to our Events organiser Andrew Wilson with a fee of £10 to the snail-mail address.
A cold buffet lunch will be provided; please let us know of any special dietary requirements you may have.
And finally, don’t forget your baton!
